Enjoy the diversity of Cyprus

By: Keith Barrett

As the third largest island in the Mediterranean Sea, Cyprus is much bigger than many people imagine. The size of the island means that it is able to offer numerous locations, each offering a variety of holiday opportunities.

The island boasts four main resort locations: Paphos, Limassol, Larnaca and Ayia Napa. Its two main international airports, at Larnaca and Paphos (also known as Pafos) act as gateways for many visitors.

Although each of the resorts have a number of blue flag beaches, there are many additional attractions away from the sea.

Paphos, for example, has a waterpark that is fun for all the family.

The park offers a number of rides, slides and flumes that are suitable for all ages.

If you want to make a full day of your visit there then you are unlikely to be bored - there's no end to the entertainment.

For those with an interest in animals, the national donkey sanctuary is to be found in Limassol. Once again, this is a location that always seems to be popular with younger visitors.

Elsewhere, camels, ostriches, dolphins and sea lions are to be found at other locations on Cyprus. This is a place that makes it easy to keep the kids entertained.

If you are interested in sports then you'll find that the excellent local facilities means that you can spend time here sharpening up your skills.

Many hotels offer swimming pools, tennis courts, table tennis and mini golf facilities. Football, tennis and golf are all very popular on the island too, meaning that sports fan should find plenty to do!

This diverse location truly offers something for everyone.
