Yorkshire has a population of 3 978 484, which makes it the largest county in england. because of its size, the county is split into four different bits; north yorkshire, west yorkshire, east yorkshire and south yorkshire.

Yorkshire grew rapidly in the nineteenth century thank you to the Industrial Revolution. in fact, the county's prominent industries of coal, textile and steel meant that the population in the county boomed around this time.

Yorkshire is a truly historic county, which was first occupied after the ice age retreated in around 8,000 BC. during the first millennium, Yorkshire was occupied by Romans, Angles & Vikings. in actual fact, yorkshire's name, first appeared in in 1065 in the anglo saxon chronicle.

In the 19th century, Yorkshire was renowned as an industrial county thanks to its thriving textile, steel & coal mining industries. The quick growth of these industries boosted the countys population.

As you'd expect from such a big county, there's lots of things to do in Yorkshire. in fact, you'll find some fantastic museums & galleries in Yorkshire.

In Sheffield, you could visit the fantastic Millennium Galleries, which have a great permanent collection of work, as well as hosting some fantastic touring exhibits. alternatively, you could pay a visit to the royal armouries museum in Leeds or even the great national media museum in Bradford.

Yorkshire is a huge county, which means that it is no surprise that it has great opportunities for shopping. From great markets in littler towns such as Harrogate, to wonderful shopping centres in the cities of Leeds and Sheffield, you will find something for any shopper to enjoy in yorkshire.

Meadow hall is a very popular mall in Sheffield. it was one of the first out-of-town shopping centres in great britain and has an impressive two hundred and forty shops.

Yorkshire is a massive county with many towns and cities, which means that it offers really varied night life. Whether you love going out for a quiet drink in a quaint inn or you want to dance all night in a fun nightclub, you are sure to have a fabulous night out here.

York is home to some of yorkshire's oldest pubs, which means that its a great place to visit for a lovely pint of cask ale. However, the city also has vip wine bars and clubs, which means that it really has something for everyone.
