Conception: Audi Q7 V12 Tdi

The AUDI Q7 is without a doubt an impressing automobile. With its six and eight cylinder engines the giant SUV is also indeed not underpowered. More however obviously always goes, and so AUDI presents now a V12-Dieselmotor, which the world did not see yet: An High end aggregate with 500 HP and 1,000 Nm torque.

The twelve cylinders result in a capacity of together 5,934 cubic centimeters. For sufficiently air provide two turbochargers, which develop up to 2,6 bar pressure. In addition comes a new Common Rail system of Bosch, whose Piezo injectors with up to 2.000 bar inject. Result: 500 HP and 1,000 Nm torque. The maximum force lines up between 1.750 and 3.000 routes.

In view of this power the road performances of the Q7 V12 TDI sound quite reliable: In only 5.5 seconds the seven-seater on speed is to accelerate 100. Conclusion is with speed 250. Without electronic Vmax delimitation the Megadiesel-Q7 could keep up loosely with a Porsche Cayenne turbo S, which further-piles up to 270 km/h.

Doubles filtered

The Quattro drive mandatory for AUDI Topmodelle distributes Kraft on all four wheels. One switches by six-stage automatic transmissions with Tiptronic function. Consumption is to settle down with approximately twelve litres per 100 kilometer. Owing to two particle filters AUDI promises besides to keep the limit values of the future EU5-Abgasnorm.

Even if the Q7 V12 TDI with its LED nebula lights, shown now, looks already whole above the increased air intakes like a current AUDI S-model, it still concerns a testbed. The market start of the standard model is not to be expected before at the beginning of of 2008. Whether principal Zwölfender from Ingolstadt will be then still the strongest series self fuze of the world, depends on the arms will of the competition.
