The Plant Factor

Hay Fever is caused due to pollens from plants like birch tree, timothy grass, ragweed, rye grass and more. Beware of molds, the minute fungi that form on animal matter and vegetables. The appearance of molds signifies dampness and decay. Molds can grow in buildings, and if you inhale the mold spores, you can suffer from allergies. There are also various types of drugs that can cause allergies. Some of them include local anaesthetics, sulfonamides, penicillins and salicylates, which is usually found in a number of fruits.

Restricting Food Allergy

You know that you have food allergy if within half an hour of consuming the allergen, you suffer from breathing problem, lightheadedness and throat tightness. In rare cases, food allergy can also lead to loss of consciousness and low blood pressure. It is then termed as medical emergency. The common allergens that can cause food allergy are sea food, egg, milk, nuts, sesame, beans, legumes, soy, peanuts, wheat, corn, and soybeans. Food allergy is found more in patients suffering from asthma, eczema, conjunctivitis and allergic rhinitis.

Some other harmful allergens are the poisonous stings of insects. Beware of the venom of bee sting and wasp sting. Animal allergy is caused due to various animal products. Some of the common ones are animal hair and dander. Be cautious if you have pets. Cockroach calyx and excretion of dust mites are some other allergens that can cause allergy. Even inhaling cigarette smoke can cause allergy. Keep your house clean and avoid contact with these allergens. It will surely help to reduce the appearances of allergy and keep you healthy all the time.

How to Avoid Allergens
Reduce the number of picture frames, showpiece, trophies and books in your rooms as dust deposit on them. Using an air filter can help you in keeping the air free from dust. Avoid using carpets at home; instead use hardwood on the floor. In case you have to use carpets make sure you clean with a vacuum cleaner regularly. Limit putting plants and flowers inside home. If you go out make sure you bathe and clean your clothes to get ride of pollen that may have got stuck to you. Use dehumidifiers to keep away dampness as it assists growth of molds.
