Tennis, Anyone?

Tennis, Anyone?
When you think of Gator sports, the first thing that comes to mind is usually not tennis. This week, however, tennis should be front and center.
This Saturday, the Navy Mids face the Gators on Gator home turf. This should prove to be quite a match because the Mids are coming off a 20 - 8 season - their first 20 win season in 23 years. Navy Mids is fired up and ready to go.
The Gators are no slouches. They are nationally ranked and playing strong this season. They are 15-7 and the 9th ranked team in the country this week's according to the Intercollegiate Tennis Association National Ranking.

In addition, the Gators are seeded 10th in the NCAA tournament, while Navy is unseeded.
The Gators will have the home court advantage. They will also have a second advantage that directly involves Navy's team since Navy's number 2 singles player, John Waters will not play the match due to a blood clot in his arm. The match will definitely be exciting because Navy and Florida both have the depth of strong players on both teams.
The match starts at 10 a.m. on Saturday, and the winner will play the winner of the 1:00 match between South Florida vs. University of Miami (FL) on Sunday.
The weather will be warm. Sun shining. This is a great time to come out and support your team. Show your spirit. Wear your colors. Sport your official Gator gear and root for the Gators to win.
