Standing 6' 11" and born May, 19 1976 in South Carolina, Kevin Garnett is regarded as one of the best all-around basketball players in the NBA. In 1995 Kevin was drafted by the Minnesota Timberwolves and was the first player to be drafted right out of High School since Moses Malone in 1974. Kevin gave the struggling Timberwolves the boost they need to become a contending team. Although the Timberwolves improved immensely they could not reach championship status.
The Boston Celtics saw an opportunity in 2007 and traded Al Jefferson, Ryan Gomes, Sebastian Telfair, Gerald Green and Theo Ratliff for Kevin Garnett. The Celtics knew that adding Garnett to the team along with Ray Allen, Paul Pierce and Rajon Rondo would eventually get them a championship ring. Boston couldn't have done a better trade; they are now in the finals with an opportunity to shut down the Los Angeles Lakers.
