Exercise balls have evolved to be far more useful to one's fitness than is commonly known. They are lightweight and a great addition to your home gym. They can provide you with many different types of exercises and benefit your entire body. Not only do they strengthen and tone muscles, but they require balance, which takes mental concentration, so they work your mind and body. They are also great for achy backs and stretching muscles, building strength, and decreasing injury.

There are quite a few exercise balls on the market these days. These are simple workout tools in a world filled with complex machines. Everyone, no matter what his or her weight, can use exercise balls because most of them are burst-resistant. Pregnant women are now opting to use these balls during labor to ease delivery pains.

One new type of ball is called the Bosu Ball, which means "both sides utilized". Bosu balls are different in that they have one flat side, so they resemble a dome. The main advantage to this type of exercise ball is stability. These balls can actually be used in a smaller area because there is no danger of them rolling. Not only is using this type of exercise ball safer, but new exercises can be performed. You could actually stand on this ball, which would aid in stability and balance. You can do balanced push-ups with this ball. If you are at home or at work, you need to exercise. The recommended time for exercising with a ball is 30 minutes per day. A Bosu ball is wonderful for light stretching or more intense exercise. If you don't have a ball, you should get one for these reasons:

Why You Need a Ball

So whether you choose the traditional exercise ball, or opt for something more unique, these balls will definitely be softer on your wallet and provide a realm of possible exercises and advantages!
