Calorie Burned Walking

By: Beatrice Stephenson

Walking to burn calories is one of the most effective ways of fuelling the metabolism up. If you walk just fifteen minutes extra a day, you will loose about 8 pounds in a year, without any change in your heating habits! Imagine walking an extra half an hour a day and make some small improvements in your diet, how much you would loose.

You could get a step counter and count steps every day, something I really recommend. In that way you can keep track on your walking and if you aim for about 10000 steps a day, you will for sure loose three pounds a week, without dieting.

So to burn calories walking is really easy. You can do it even if you are not in a very good shape and can't run or do aerobics. It doesn't require any expensive equipment, you will loose weight, sleep better, lower cholesterol levels, and improve your blood pressure. If you are a mom with the last pregnancy pounds to loose, then stroller walking is an excellent way to go.

To walk for an hour will burn about 120 calories. you don't have to walk it all at once, you can split it up during the day. Every step counts, remember that! You could take an extra walk on your lunch break, take the stairs instead of the elevator, get off the bus one stop earlier. All added together you will gain a lot in a day, and if you have a step counter, you will find it more fun and easy to reach your goals. To improve your calorie burning even more you can add the so called cellulite shoes to your walking. Their real name are Mbt shoes, and they increase energy burning with up to 20%. They will get your legs more toned and reduce cellulite. I have two pairs myself and love them. I use them whenever I can, on my way to work, cleaning the house, walking the dog. Let your imagination free and find out how you can add steps in your daily schedule.
