The subject of weight loss can seem long and complicated. There are so many books written about it, diets created around it and professionals taking advantage of it. If you are confused about how to lose the weight and want the simple truth, then read on.
Healthy weight loss is NOT bi-pass surgery or a diet that leaves you tired and fatigued or craving and starved for food. There are plenty of diets out there that promise weight loss, but once you begin the diet, you cannot maintain it and you are soon back to your old eating habits that put your weight back on.
Surprised?
If you are, then you will probably be the next victim that is either brainwashed by surgeons promising you the easy way out through surgery, or you will reduce yourself to eating boxed meals that are filled with preservatives and chemicals that will ruin your health, or you just end up believing that it's your fault because you lack the willpower.
So what is the truth about healthy weight loss?
When you think about it, it's really simple. You need three things to happen before you commit to losing weight. What are they?
First, the truth to healthy weight loss is SEEK PAIN RELIEF. What does pain have to do with it? A lot!
&bull It is only when you have been embarassed or made fun of that it hurts, that you will seek relief.
&bull You have reached a point in your life that your bad eating habits have taken their toll on your body and you hurt yourself with high blood pressure, diabetes or sleep apnea, that you will seek relief.
&bull You have been told you are so far gone that your only option is bi-pass surgery or you will lose your life that you will look for relief.
The second truth to healthy weight loss is STRONG DESIRE. Your desire to maintain a healthy weight must be strong enough to motivate you to action! So much so that you are willing to try everything from diet pills, liquid diets, boxed meals, you name it you have done it, without results. Remember, surgeons and weight loss centers make their money off your desire!
The third truth to healthy weight loss is be willing to take the time to LEARN how your body works, why it stores fat and does something about it.
Until you reach all three of these points in your life, you will not lose weight. Only then will you really LISTEN when you are told that calories do count, that you must eat fewer calories than you burn off in order to lose weight, that you need to move from your couch, computer or video games just one hour a day in order to lose the weight, that you must change your diet and concentrate on filling up with like vegetables, fruits, grains, seeds and protein rather than junk food.
