When I think about bottled water I think of hot and sweaty tennis players gulping it down between their sets. There's certainly a stigma when it comes to bottled water. Sometimes I think rich people only drink it. We see all of those fabulous rich famous people on television drinking it. Bottled water has certainly become popular. I go to the store and I see more brands than I can keep track of. I have drank a few bottles of this stuff in my day. I Mainly get it if I am out or I am out walking and exercising.
Is bottled water a rip off? Probably so. There is nothing wonderful about it. The only great thing about it is how it is marketed. Bottled water makers tell us it's the best thing we can get our hands on. We all should drink it. You need to keep in mind that they are in the business of making money. Their ultimate goal is to sell you bottled water. Whether you need it or not.
Is bottled water preferable for you than tap water? No, it certainly is not. The fact is, most bottled water is just good ole tap water. It's filtered and purified and doesn't have the taste the water from your tap has. Anything that will get you to drink more water is great. Though, realize that it's nothing more than a big waste of money.
You need to watch what you buy. Many bottled water has things added in it. Often-times they will add sugar or other flavorings in it. If it doesn't taste like pure water, there's something in it. The water may come from a spring or a mountain river. Is this preferable? Not really. There could be some minerals that tap water won't have.
You prefer the taste of bottled water but not your tap water. What should you do? For starters, I would recommend you don't run to the store to purchase more bottled water. Many products exist where you use a filter for your tap water. One of my personal favorites is a pitcher with a filter in it. When you pour the water, it goes through a filter.
These tend to be more affordable and easy to use. It require much brain power to be able to fill your filtered pitcher with tap water. There are also filters you can place right over your faucet. These are the best thing to utilize. They are very easy to use and replace the filters. You can purchase these at any Wal Mart or similar stores.
There are the water filtering systems. The ones with the pellets and all. Personally, I think they are a total pain in the ass. I have no idea why people get purchase these instead of the smaller faucet units. I realize some people need to use these because of the condition of their current water. Frequently the water is too hard and it needs to be softened.
If you dislike the taste of your water, try filling up the empty bottles with tap water. Put them in the freezer and get them nice and cold. You will notice when cold, the water has a different flavor. This might be drinkable. Your wallet will thank you.
The issue I see with bottled water is, it's too expensive. These companies are charging you an arm and a leg for something you can get free! You shouldn't have to pay for it. I have no idea why people don't feel guilty for buying bottled water.
Try to stop drinking the bottled water and you'll discover how much money you will save for one month. I find it crazy there are people around this world dying of starvation and disease. Then we pay a dollar or more for a bottle of water. It seems so INSANE to me.
