The Chrysler Group now introduces the newest member of its Street and Racing Technology (SRT) model lineup with the launch of the all new 2008 Dodge Caliber SRT4. According to Chrysler Group, the 2008 Dodge Caliber SRT4 "delivers SRT mission of benchmark performance for the best price to the sport-compact market."

With 285 horsepower, 265 lb.-ft. of tire-smoking torque, and numerous functional, race-inspired exterior and interior appointments, Dodge and SRT have once again boldly joined the sport-compact performance market in dominating fashion." said Mike Accavitti, Director - Dodge Brand and SRT Marketing Communications, Chrysler.
The new 2008 Dodge Caliber SRT4 is powered by a 2.4-liter I-4 World engine with Dual Variable Valve Timing, mated to a Getrag DMT6 six-speed manual transaxle. The engine pumps out 285 horsepower and 265 lb.-ft. of torque. An electronically tuned Brake Lock Differential helps out the six-speed manual transaxle. The car is also equipped with a to reduce harmful exhaust emissions. With this powertrain package, the 2008 Dodge Caliber SRT4 can sprint from 0 to 62 mph in six seconds.
Outside, the 2008 Dodge Caliber SRT4 comes with a sport tuned appearance and other aerodynamic components like the front fascia with functional brake cooling ducts, functional air scoop hood, large integrated spoiler above the rear glass, larger grille opening, and 19-inch cast-aluminum wheels wrapped with Goodyear three or four season performance tires.
Moving on the inside, the 2008 Dodge Caliber SRT4 features a bunch of interior components and safety systems. This include sport seating with performance bolsters, SRT race-inspired instrument design, optional Reconfigurable Display (RCD), air conditioning with particulate and odor air filter, Chill Zone(TM) beverage storage cooler, illuminated cup holders, sliding armrest with cell phone holder, and performance fabric inserts. Passive and active safety features include performance four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes with vented front brake rotors, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), advanced multi-stage driver and front passenger air bags, supplemental side window curtain air bag, and driver inflatable knee blocker.
Optional features are also offered like the Kicker/SRT Livin' Loud audio system, power-express open/close sun roof, and a 19 x 7.5-inch polished aluminum SRT wheels.
In addition, Chrysler said that the 2008 Dodge Caliber SRT4 embodies their key aspects of SRT vehicle models. This include exterior styling that resonates with the brand image, race-inspired interiors, world-class ride and handling characteristics across a broad range, benchmark braking, and standout powertrain.
Anyway, the 2008 Dodge Caliber SRT4 will roll out in dealerships carrying a manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) of $22,995.
