Safety and Performance Begin With Quality Volkswagen Jetta Parts

By: George Wiggins

Safety first. This is the slogan that the Volkswagen Jetta is famous for. It was first manufactured in 1980 as a smaller version of the Volkswagen Golf family car. However, this name was actually used only in North America and South Africa from 1991 to 2005. Vento and Bora are some of its names in other parts of the world. Due to the demand for such kind of car , it became the best selling European car in the United States and Canada.

The first generation Jetta was introduced in North American in 1980 in two versions namely: the two-door coupe and the four-door sedan. Giorgeto Giugiaro was the mind behind its effective design. Packed inside the ifrst generation Jetta is a 1.6 L four-cylinder engine producing 78 hp (57 kW) and 83 ft?lbf (113 N?m) of torque. However, in 1981, the engine was upgraded to a 1.7 L engine producing 74 hp (54 kW) and 90 ft?lbf (121 N?m) of torque.

There were at least five generations of the Volkswagen Jetta, each generation having innovations that improve the experience of Volkswagen owners around the globe. In 2008, it is expected that Volkswagen will introduce the Jetta with a wagon version.

Behind the huge success of the Volkswagen Jetta are the quality Volkswagen Jetta parts that it has. These parts, no matter how big or small, contribute to the overall performance of the Jetta. From the radiator, the alternator, the A/C condenser, the fuel system to the spark plugs, thermostat, oil filter and other parts each perform a specific function in order to deliver the efficiency that the Jetta is known for.

Proper maintenance of these is therefore a must. Cleaning, repairing and even replacing defective parts should be part of the routine so as to maintain the Jetta at its top shape.
