Mercedes-AMG, the tuning arm of DaimlerChrysler AG's Mercedes Car Group division plans to surprise international car fans at the upcoming 2007 New York International Auto Show where the company will unveil the brand new AMG model.
Unfortunately, some automotive enthusiasts fed their curiosity and found the initial images and details about the new Mercedes-Benz AMG model called the CLK 63 AMG coupe have begun to leak, ahead of its official debut in New York. Some sources said the CLK 63 AMG will have a sports variant called the "Black Series" that will roll out in US market anytime soon.
The Mercedes CLK 63 AMG Black Series features a broad and muscular body styling that emphasizes its sporty appearance and aggressiveness. The front fascia featuring a redesigned AMG front apron and broad openings highlights the sleek exterior of the vehicle. The broad openings allow the Mercedes CLK 63 AMG Black Series to have an additional breath of fresh air to the transmission-oil cooler and the high-performance steering-oil cooler. Other exterior features found on the new side outlets made of carbon Mercedes CLK 63 AMG Black Series include new side outlets made of carbon, black outlined air outlets, and wide front wings that is made of reinforced plastic with ultra-light carbon-fibre composite material.
Mercedes-Benz USA is already offering the CLK 63 ragtop luxury coupe model, but AMG wants to add something new for the CLK 63 and make it sportier. The CLK 63 AMG Black Series is the result of this artisanship. After building the SLK 55 AMG, Mercedes-AMG now tunes up the CLK 63 model to come up with the sporty CLK 63 AMG Black Series. Mercedes-AMG has equipped the CLK 63 AMG Black Series with a monstrous 6.2-litre V8 engine capable of pumping out a maximum of 475 hp coming out at engine speeds of 6,800 rpm, while the peak torque output is at 465 lb-ft rotating at 5,200 rpm. The engine features with quality , and is mated to a standard AMG SPEEDSHIFT 7G-TRONIC 7-speed automatic gearbox with manual drive program ("M") and AMG aluminum gearshift paddles on the steering wheel. In addition to the powerful output and performance of the CLK 63 AMG Black Series, the sports coupe also comes with numerous lightweight components including 19-inch AMG forged wheels, AMG adjustable sports suspension, and AMG high-performance composite brakes.
