Volkswagen Offers Wolfsburg Edition Passat

In the auto industry, promoting a vehicle involves different strategies and one of which is the production of special editions of a particular model. These special edition models are upgraded version of the non-special edition models.

Such a strategy is used to highlight one vehicle model aside from being produced during the observance of special milestones or occasions. One special edition vehicle being offered to motorists is the Volkswagen Wolfsburg Edition Passat.

The Wolfsburg Passat, true to its special edition attribute, will be produced in limited quantity and there are going to be 6,000 units that would be built to be exact.

The special edition VW Passat will be quipped with a 2.0 liter turbocharged engine that is quite capable of producing 200 horsepower. The power from its engine is transferred to the car's drive wheels via a six-speed automatic transmission precisely engineered to facilitate smooth gear changes. Aside from the engine and the transmission, the special edition will feature "Wolfsburg Edition" badges on the driver and passenger front quarter panels.

Aside from the badges, the special edition sedan will be equipped with 17-inch alloy wheels which give the vehicle its aesthetic value a boost. Other amenities that owners of the special edition VW Passat will enjoy are a four-spoke leather wrapped multi-function steering wheel, a leather wrapped gearshift knob and boot, a power sunroof, fog lights, heated windshield washer nozzles, 12-way full power adjustable driver seat, a six-disc in-dash CD changer with MP3 capability, heated front seats, and the Siriusâ„? satellite radio.

Aside from the technologically advanced features and upgraded engines, the special edition is also packed with safety features that rivals Volvo cars equipped with . The Wolfsburg Edition Passat is equipped with standard six airbags and Volkswagen also offers two additional airbags as optional features.

The car's braking system is also one of the most advanced one can find in a production automobile today. It is equipped with a four-wheel anti-lock braking system with an integrated brake-wiping feature which keeps the brakes clean all the time for maximum stopping power. Aside from the anti-lock braking feature, the special edition VW Passat is also equipped with Brake Assist which primes the brake for immediate application.

The car is also equipped with an Electronic Stabilization Program which gives the car good maneuverability when turning corners. The ESP comes with an Anti-Slip Regulation and Electronic Differential Locking. The car is equipped with electrically assisted power steering which reduces the amount of fuel that the engine needs to provide power to the power steering system.

The special edition vehicle for all its advanced features is covered with a 5-year/60,000 mile warranty for its powertrain. It is also covered with a 4-year/50,000 mile New Vehicle Limited Warranty with wear and tear items and adjustments excluded after the initial 12 months/12,000 miles.
