Pricing for the 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer Announced

Recently, the Mitsubishi Motors North America announced that they have set record sales figure for the month of February. They are also looking forward to the continuing of their success in the U.S. market with the launch of the exciting and all-new 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer. And more recently, the American subsidiary of the Asian brand announced the pricing for the rally-inspired 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer.

The compact sedan has three different trim packages. These are the DE, ES, and GTS models. The vehicles have upgraded safety features and sports around a more aggressive styling. The DE models will start with a price tag of $13,990. The DE model is designed for those who are looking for a high performance car for a reasonable price. The ES model on the other hand will start at $15,990. The ES model is a well equipped version of the Lancer DE. It is equipped with technologically advanced features that are not present in the DE version. The third version of the Mitsubishi Lancer is the GTS model, and this comes with a price tag starting at $17,490. The GTS, meanwhile, is equipped with class-leading features and designed with performance enthusiasts in mind.

All of the three versions of the Mitsubishi Lancer have a front wheel drive configuration. They also share the same powerplant, an all-aluminum MVEC 4-cylinder engine which can provide as much as 152 horsepower. Coupled to the engine is a five-speed manual transmission common to all version of the Lancer. The transmission is designed to transfer power to the wheels smoothly. The power generated by its engine is capable of driving the car to amazing speeds when a brake component from would be really needed.

The Mitsubishi Lancer can be categorized as a Partial Zero Emissions Vehicle (P-ZEV) if equipped with the 143 horsepower engine. To make the Lancer an environment friendly car and increase its fuel economy, the continuously variable transmission (CVT) is available for all the trim packages of the 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer. With the CVT, the Lancer DE will cost $14,890. The Lancer ES on the other hand when equipped with CVT will cost $16,890. The sporty GTS version meanwhile will fetch a price of $18,490 when equipped with the CVT. Aside from these, Mitsubishi also announced that the destination and handling charges for the 2008 Lancer will set car buyers back by $625.

The 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer will come with a 10-year/100,000 mile powertrain limited warranty with a fully transferable 5-year/60,000 mile bumper to bumper new vehicle limited warranty. Mitsubishi offers this warranty not only for cars such as the 2008 Lancer but also for the sports utility vehicles in their lineup. Aside from that, all Mitsubishi vehicles also come with a 7-year/100,000 mile anti-corrosion/perforation limited warranty.
