About ten years back, Indian car industry was working silently and many car companies restricted the celebration of new car launches to certain limit. Even some companies would manage to issue a small piece of advertisement of their new launches elsewhere in the news papers in a very simple manner.
It was also equally difficult for people to get information of new car launches, details of their favorite cars and other information pertaining to recent cars. For buying a new car, buyers used to visit a showroom number of times for various reasons including to know exact prices, available variants, colours, time of delivers, loan amount, installment amount or mode of payment etc.
People would ask his friends, relatives and many others about their favorite car's mileage, look, durability, colour and many other things before buying a car because buying a car was considered as most expensive thing in one's life after house.
Those days, only few names of cars like Maruti 800 and old one Ambassador were quite popular among people because they got to see only these cars. We would not identify any other except these cars because information about other cars was missing.

All most every private channel is giving a top priority to events related to new car launches and other car related issue. Today, we can find a lot of colorful car magazines in market at affordable cost.
Car companies are also not lagging behind in creating awareness about their cars. Each company is spending a huge amount of money for publicity. Now, they issue full page ads on News papers with details of cars, dealers and other important information even before the launch of their new cars. Many companies are appointing noted film stars and crickets as ambassador of their new cars to endorse it and also make ad films for television channels with them to advertise their cars that easily reach the common man.

Apart from this, now there many car portals are available to help lay man to educate them about car industry with technical specification, reviews, animation content, feature compare, pricings in different cities and much other relevant information of all cars which are now available in India. The people are now getting information of their favorite cars at finger tip by browsing such car websites.
All these factors have really made the common man educated and more alert than before about car industry. Buying of their dream car has now become a cake walk and chances of buyers being cheated by any car manufacturers or dealers or agents are also very minimal.
