One of the leading Indian car makers Mahindra and Mahindra recorded a spectacular growth in April 2008.M&M which is a part of the US $6 billion Mahindra Group recently consolidated its leadership position in the automotive segment. The company's sales chart for year 2008, says its domestic sales stood at 19,392, as against 12,235 in April '07 and also increasing their export figure by an approximate 56% in April '08, with total sales of 20,030 vehicles as against 12,867 vehicles in last fiscal.

The companies venture with Renault also saw a good raise by selling Logan- India's first wide body car by 1713 units.

M&M saw a positive and strong growth with amazing sales numbers and that is the reason. The company further consolidated their leadership position in Utility Vehicles.

A briefing about M&M and you will know that the company has come a long way and in a successful way. M&M is the only Indian company among the top three tractor manufacturers in the world. The company has recently won the Japan Quality Medal for its Mahindra's Farm Equipment Sector and is the only company to be bestowed with this honor worldwide. They are also the market leaders in multi-utility vehicles in India. Clubbed with Renault, M&M made a milestone entry into the passenger car segment by rolling out Logan.

The other plans of M&M include setting up multi-brand service outlets with an investment of Rs 250 crore in next three to five years. The company plans to open 700 multi-brand service outlets under the brand name Mahindra First Choice Services Ltd across the country. Initially the company will set up company-owned outlets and gradually they will have franchisee-owned outlets too.

The used car outlets will be also increased from current 67 to 240 in five years and out of this 30 will be superstores offering multiple services. The spare parts division of the company, which sold spares of Mahindra vehicles alone, will soon start selling spares of other manufacturers too.
