Protective Bumpers

By: Katherine Hooper

Imagine a young boy clad in roller blades. The whistling, cool breeze is blowing on his face and then out of nowhere, an unnoticed rock came into picture and the kid just found himself kissing the cold concrete. One can only owe so much to a geared helmet, knee pads, and elbow pads---standing up injury-free. Such a scenario is akin to riding an automobile. Vehicles demand a need of protection, too. A good number of automotive parts and add-ons are made available in the market, like the bumpers, for protection purposes.

Unfortunately, about 1.2 million perish brought about by road accidents. With an alarming statistic, it is very essential that automobile manufacturers do add necessary safety features in the vehicles these companies produced. Bumpers happen to be one of those ingenious innovations in the automobile industry. With once was just a strap or flat iron, bumpers continued to evolve just like the vehicles. Strategically placed at the rear and front portions of the vehicle, bumpers have the primary task of protecting the vehicle's frame whenever a frontal or back collision occurs. Bumpers are designed in such a way that these will be able to absorb the impact during collisions. Whenever a car collides with another car or object, the bumpers can lessen the damage to the car's frame and most importantly help protect the driver and passengers.

As early as the 1920s, bumpers were already geared with fellow protectors like brush guards and push bars, amongst others, for added protection. Bumpers and the other bumper add-ons provide improved protection for the vehicle's frame up a notch. These aftermarket parts are usually installed on the bigger vehicles like trucks and vans.

, however, do not just promote protection. Aside from the safety features of bumpers, these also some points in the aesthetic level. These auto parts give that extra form and toughness to the vehicle. There are a lot of bumpers taking pride in style, but it will be better to remember to install not only the good-looking bumpers but also reliable ones.
