Mallorca, There is More to it That you Think

By: Rob Wood

I was fortunate enough a few years ago to have the opportunity to live on the beautiful Balaeric island of Mallorca. This stunning island offered so much to do on the few days I had off from my hectic job as a holiday rep.

This type of job encompassed all kinds of roles and every morning I walked into my hotel I had no idea what would be thrown at me, at the end of every day it was a relief to go back to hide in my cool and inviting atypical Mallorca property which I shared with other reps and where there was never a quiet moment.

Mallorca had so much to offer, and we did it all! From the lively non stop partying resort of Magaluf to the lazy beaches in Puerto Pollenca, we climbed up to the cap de formentor and snorkelled under the crystal waters of Cala Ratjada.

There were markets, water parks, sailing and Pirates to encounter. All manner of restaurants to suit any palettes, from tapas bars to Burger King, you name it you could find it here in Mallorca. Not forgetting one of the only countries to still have a C&A!!

My job commanded a lot of my time, all the reps worked hard at the hotel, in the resort, at the airport, let alone the hospitals and police stations.

So on the precious few days we had off it was great to fully appreciate the beautiful island we had been chosen to work on. We would relax by taking in the fantastic views walking through the mountains, sun bathing or visiting one of the lovely museums.

One day I sincerely hope to go back to Mallorca and find a lovely Mallorca property like the one I used to live in and live out the rest of my days there, sipping sangria and watching the sunset.

Or even finding a frontline property to sit away the summer days, drifting back to when I work on the island as a rep remembering slightly shorter days and longer nights.
