The Balé, a Haven in Nusa Dua
by: Galuh Wulandarie

When you arrive at The BalĂ© your idea of that perfect resort-getaway will be redefined and you will feel like you just stumbled into one of Bali’s best-kept secrets.

Located in Nusa Dua, an area already famous for its five star hotels and resorts, your bliss starts the moment you step into the BalĂ© and start soaking in its minimalist architectural design. To play off the white interior, small fish ponds are placed sporadically through out the boutique resort, giving it a zen-like appeal. And since it’s perched on a hill, the boutique hotel is connected via staircases, allowing guests to take in the regal beauty of the Indian Ocean.

The 20 villas are reminiscent of little houses, with wooden tiles and wooden walls, while sticking to the minimalist décor you have been introduced to earlier. With the options of either one or two bedrooms, the villas provide the perfect anecdote to take you away from the hustle and bustle of the already-familiar sky scrapers and your worries. Note to the honeymooners, the villas come with private pools and the bathroom, which is located in the main bedroom, without a separating door, has an extremely spacious bath tub, to give you and your loved one plenty of chances to let your world revolve around just each other.

Like every resort, the BalĂ© is not without its facilities. With an open-air spa, a library that provides books and internet connection and a gym, this exquisite offering managed by Singapore’s Lifestyle Retreats still provides the option of the much-needed ‘alone’ time. Furthermore, the Beach Club, at Geger Beach, perfect for swimming and also mingling, is easily accessible since the resort provides free transportation to the area.

Already established amongst its clientele of distinguished travelers, the sincerity of the Balé in making your stay both memorable and relaxing, comes through with its strict policy of not allowing children under the age of 16 years. This provides the perfect excuse for you to just leave all your worries, kids and all, back home and just focus on what matters most
 you and your partner.

Hotel Facilities at The Balé:

  • Private Swimming Pool
All villas have their own private swimming pool. The pool size for the one-bedroom villa is 4x8m, and for the two-bedroom villa is 5x10m.

  • BalĂ© Bengong
Balé Bengong is a huge daybed facing the private swimming pool with a small pantry for tea or coffee.

  • The Faces Restaurant
The Faces Restaurant offers an open kitchen and is in the heart of The Balé.

  • The Spa
The Spa has 5 spa rooms, 2 for couples and 3 for singles. It uses an open-air concept with an inside shower, Jacuzzi and sauna. While having your treatment, enjoying the chill-out music the spa plays to aid the relaxation.

  • Bliss Restaurant
Bliss Restaurant is in The Spa. It serves light and nutritious spa cuisine.

  • Gym
The Gym is in the same area as The Spa, but it is not maintained well and is hardly used.

  • Library
You will find the library near the reception and lobby area. You can spend your time here reading books, mostly English and Japanese novels, playing chess or surfing the free access internet.

  • Functional Room
This room is hardly used and when it is, it is usually for the holding of a yoga session or two.

  • Beach Club
The Beach Club is located at Geger Beach, which is a perfect place for swimming. Transportation is available free-of-charge.

A Word from The Balé, Mr. Agus Suardana, Assistant Director of Sales
“Most of our guests come from around the globe, (and) 90% of them are honeymooners.” said Mr. Agus Suardana, the Assistant Director of Sales for The BalĂ©. Before we wrapped up our lunch, this petite Balinese man with generous smile said, “We at The BalĂ© believe that hospitality comes from the heart!”
