You hear a lot about choices and flexibility in programmingoptions from the various programming service providers, but with many of themthe details can be somewhat vague. DirecTV now carries twenty channels of high definitionprogramming and you can subscribe to the whole package if you choose, or youcan subscribe to as few as one high definition channel if that is all that youwant. For instance if you are only interested in science and nature programmingin high definition then they have Discovery HD Theater that you can select outand ad onto any one of their Total Choice programming packages.

?You don’t have tohave a standard format programming package though and if you want to, you cansubscribe to that one high definition channel only if that is all that youchoose. For classic movie programming there is Universal HD and for more recentmovie releases there is HDNet Movies in high definition. If you are interestedin sports programming in high definition then they have ESPN HD and ESPN2 HD.DirecTV also carries all of the major networks in high definition and thisincludes FOX, NBC, ABC and CBS and you can any or all of them if you choose.

DirecTV also has your choice of two Hughes name brand highdefinition receivers for you to select from and both of them receive standardformat as well as high definition programming. One is a basic model highdefinition receiver that is limited in the amount of extra features that itcarries and it also doesn’t include the DVR option. The other option in Hugheshigh definition receivers that DirecTV has for you is a more feature ladenmodel that also comes with DVR.

?The DVR in this modelwill record and store a combined total of one-hundred and twenty-five hours ofrecordings and all of its functions including the DVR are simple one touchfunctions that even a child can easily learn to use. With the programmingsearch feature you can quickly find any program that is on the schedule bysimply entering it into the function by name or even the name of an actor inthe program or movie.

?Give the button onthe remote a click and it instantly appears on the screen with the date andtime it is playing. Give the recording button on the remote a click and it isset to be recorded when it comes on and it’s all just that simple.
