Manchester is a city in the north west of the uk. It was made a city in 1853 & now has a massive population of 452 000. Manchester is the 3rd largest conurbation in great britain & it is also the 3rd most popular city that's visited by foreign tourists.

Manchester first came to prominence during the Industrial Revolution, which is when it became the world leader in textile manufacture & production. the city is really proud of its industrial heritage & some of the mills that were used during this time have been converted into flats and offices.

The city is also a centre of commerce, science & technology. It has 3 universities & is well-known as the birthplace of the Baby computer, which revolutionised modern computing.

Even though the city retains many gorgeous Victorian buildings including Manchester town hall & Central Library, it also has lots of futuristic buildings. plenty of these buildings were constructed after the city was attacked by a terrorist bomb in 1996.

There's loads of stuff to do in Manchester. From beautiful park spaces to interesting museums, you can not feel bored in this city.
