One of the greatest love stories of all time is set to set the London theatre world alight when it arrives in the west end in April 2008.Gone With the Wind will open at the New London Theatre in April and is set to be a winner.

It's been a long time coming but they have finally adapted this great film for stage, and it is being directed suitably by Trevor Nunn who re-unites with designer John Napier. These two worked on the all time classic theatre shows and worlds wide hits, Cats and Les Miserable's.

This American civil war film, set in the backdrop of Atlanta in the 1860's, follows the love torn story of Scarlett O'Hara and her on off relationship with the dashing and roguish Rhett Butler. Over ten years you follow the ups and downs of Scarlett's life, peppered as it is with great laughter and grief.

Of course the principal of this great tale is how the world as was known to Scarlett before the events of war is changed beyond recognition after it climax, and as the title says, it has gone with the wind.
