How to Lose Weight and Keep it Off Without Exercising

by : William Winch

Many so-called experts will try to convince you that the only way to lose weight is by exercising the fat away. If you could just get off the couch and spend all day every day on a treadmill, you would be in perfect health, they say. Although there is no doubt that there are incredible health benefits from exercise, it is not a necessity for losing weight. They are just trying to sell you a gym membership or their fitness machine.

The people they are leaving out of the equation are those of us who can not exercise due to an injury, severe asthma, or other health challenges. And some people just consider exercise too much of a chore. I had chronic asthma all of my life and could not exercise or even breathe heavy, but I found a way to lose 70 pounds 15 years ago and have been medication free ever since. For me there was no other choice.

I'm not talking about some sort of miracle cure packaged nicely in one little supplement. Since nothing like that will ever exist, you have to face the fact that lifestyle changes must be made. These modifications are the foundation of any successful long-term weight-loss plan (eating less and moving more), and they require daily focus and discipline.

The way I lost weight without exercising was replacing high-fat and high-sugar foods with proper nutrition and targeted vitamins made from all natural ingredients. Fortunately I found a meal replacement shake that gave my body all of the proper nutrition that a huge high-calorie meal gives you, minus the salt, sugar and fat. Proper nutrition and less calories equals weight loss without exercise.

One of the biggest misconceptions that I have encountered since beginning to help people lose weight is that all you have to do is eat vegetables and fruits to get the nutrition you need. Although these foods are a much healthier alternative than low-fat potato chips and cookies, you still have to eat too much of them to get the nutrition of a scientifically formulated protein shake.

Calories are calories no matter what the food source is, and the more you consume, the more you will gain weight. One 200 calorie soy-based protein meal replacement shake, for example, could be packed with all the nutrients found in eating 2,000 calories worth of food.

The human body is complex and requires many different needs for all of your problems to be solved with one little pill. Treating each organ individually so that it functions at its optimum performance is the safest way to achieve an overall wellness of the body. By taking an all-natural product targeted to help me breathe better, I was soon able to get off all of my asthma medications while losing weight.

All-natural products are always safe and can be taken along with medication, but consult with your doctor before starting any kind of diet-modifying program. Be aware though, that many doctors get kick-backs and bonuses based on how much medication they can push onto their patients. If they tell you not to take it but have never tried it themselves, get a second opinion.

The final reason why I was successful at losing weight and keeping it off without exercising was because I made sure my supplement program came with a personal coach to help me. My coach had been where I was and struggled in the same ways to lose weight. Having someone to help me achieve my results is probably the most important thing because my coach's success was dependent on my success. And that is why I am so successful at helping people lose weight without resorting to the physical strain of exercise. I have been there before and I know what it's like.

Understand the importance of making healthy choices a new way of life. A person simply cannot commit to a weight loss program with the intention of keeping bad habits. When you begin to lose weight with all-natural supplements, you will probably feel better and will want to exercise, or may feel your body healing in such a way that you are suddenly able to exercise. Although you can lose weight without it, exercise is always beneficial to overall wellness and never a detriment.
