None! Ab exercises alone do not generate enough of a metabolic response in your body to produce fat loss.

The question that is often asked is what are the best types of exercises and workouts for losing stubborn stomach fat in order to get visible six pack abs? Most people with surplus stomach fat are looking to try to uncover their abs and are searching for some "miracle abdominal workout" that is going to cut the fat off their abs quickly, and that seems to be the major problem today.

They are going about the problem entirely the wrong way! The truth is that you don't lose stomach fat by doing ab workouts. You only build and strengthen abs muscles by doing ab workouts.

The problem is that dedicating most of your time and effort on abdominal exercises and abs workouts to try to flatten your stomach and define your 6-pack abs is simply wasting your time and it keeps you from doing the correct workout programs that will in fact trim down your body fat for good.

These forms of full body exercises would cover a much higher percentage of the workouts I would design instead of abs exercises directly targeting the midsection. Also, the way you combine those full body exercises into a planned workout that maximizes your metabolism is very important.

Of course I do recommend a certain amount of exercises that directly target the abs and core, but these are only a tiny fraction of the exercises that should be incorporated into your program as your time is better spent focusing on the full body exercises that stimulate the greatest hormonal and metabolic changes within your body. Additionally, even though you are not specifically targeting the abs, working out using mostly full body multi-joint combo exercises you indirectly work your entire midsection.

Take into account that the most vital factor for losing stomach fat to see your abs is actually proper nutrition. No matter how hard or extreme your workouts, if your diet is full of junk, then your abdominals will be covered with fat plain and simple. Nutrition is without a doubt the "holy grail of getting a six pack".

Stop wasting so much of your time and effort on leg raises, sit-ups, crunches and all those worthless "ab contraptions" in your hard work to try to develop toned 6-pack abs.
