Gone are the days when people thought that only gold and silver can be used in making jewelry. Today, what is fashion is what sells. So, this holds true no more. We have different types of imitation jewelry available today that are made out of cheap metals like copper, iron, oxidized silver etc. These have added much spice to any women's life and they look great with these fashion jewelry. Even the other types of jewelry having pearls, jade, marcasite, abalone, amber etc are quite popular.

Actually jewelry making is nothing less than an art. It requires immense thinking, great skill and experience and a patient mind to make any type of jewelry. Hand made jewelry can be claimed as an artistic asset. However, there are many jewelry-making companies, which manufacture jewelry in bulk and make it available to you. But jewelry designing is a type of art. The personal decoration or adorning can be done in many ways. And jewelry helps you in this thing. Gifting someone with lovely jewelry can be a great gesture at any occasion.

There are basically two types, piercing and non-piercing jewelry. In earlier times, body piercing was banned and it determined that the person is of rebellious attitude and is against the social system. However, things have changed now and both piercing and non-piercing jewelry have gained equal importance.

The piercing jewelry can be worn on different parts of body like, eyebrow, navel, tongue, nipple, ears, nose, nostrils etc. While we have bracelets, necklaces, rings, anklets etc as non-piercing jewelry. These are all popular. However, you need to be careful with the piercing jewelry. Always consult a professional person who knows the piercing procedures. Otherwise, you will have to face infection and many other problems. Just be cautious. In case of piercing and non-piercing jewelry made out of different metals, one must be aware that some people have allergy to any type of metal.

You will also have to take care of the bracelets, bangles, necklaces etc. You can clean them with a clean kerchief or moist cloth. Then, let it dry for a while. This is because, if you are wearing regularly then because of perspiration, the shine may become less. You can also use the cleaning liquid as instructed in the jewelry manual, if you have one.
