Famous Chinese poets have gone down in history in Singapore, too.

Li Po (李白) Avenue, Tu Fu (杜甫) Avenue, Tung Po (苏东坡) Avenue are three roads found at Teacher’s Estate, Yio Chu Kang Road. Illustrious poet Li Po (李白) is best known for a piece on musings at night; Tu Fu (杜甫) is another eminent Tang poet who was affected by the An Lushan Rebellion; and Tung Po (苏东坡) is a writer, poet, pharmacologist and statesman of the Song Dynasty.

Iqbal Avenue
Malay and Indian poets have not been forgotten in this estate either. Iqbal avenue
is named after Muhammad Iqbal, a Muslim poet and philosopher who lived in British India(1877-1938).

Tagore Avenue
Referring to Nobel Prize winner and Bengali poet Rabindranath Tagore(1861-1941); Kalidasa Avenue is named after 4th century Sanskrit writer Kalidasa, who is widely acknowledged as the greatest Sanskrit poet and dramatist; and Omar Khayyam Avenue, named after Persian poet, mathematician and philosopher Omar Khayyam(1048-1131).

Munshi Abdullah Avenue
Aptly named after Munshi Abdullah, who is known as the father of modern Malay literature(1797-1854). Serenade Walk is where you can play music in someone’s honour.
