Developed on reclaimed land, this coastal park is one of the largest parks in Singapore.
The distinguishing feature of this park is the carefully preserved 6-ha mangrove swamp. Catwalks built into the swamp bring you closer to the inhabitants of the swamps. Some examples of these inhabitants include mud-skippers, mud crabs and mangrove trees. Bird watchers will be able to see birds perching on tree branches from the 3-storey high observatory tower.
Children will love the playground with its giant space-net, cableways, innovative play stations and a maze garden. This is guaranteed to provide hours of fun and laughter.
Dining by the beach is gaining popularity here. Situated along the sandy beach, you can tuck into barbequed seafood, as well as Western dishes prepared at reasonable prices. Or if you prefer to cook your own food, barbeque pits are aplenty. To end the day, why not camp overnight and be awoken by the sound of waves gently crashing into the shore.
This park also offers cycling, in-line skating and water sports for those searching for an adrenaline rush. Outdoor concerts are also held from time to time at the park’s wide open spaces and amphitheatre. This promotes an excuse for cultural and social interaction among the heartlanders.
Do note that Kids Kampong is no longer in Pasir Ris Park. They have moved to 11 Pasir Ris farmway Drive 1.
Another interesting spot in Pasir Ris Park is the Fisherman's Village . There are lots of seafood for you to try. You can even fish for one and have any of the local stalls prepare a nice dish for you.
