Like many districts in Singapore, Tai Seng is an industrial estate. However, unlike the others, it is not a specialized – a particular industry, such as steel or iron, is not concentrated in Tai Seng. Rather, the district sees a wide range of industries and businesses, from telecommunications to textiles. Tai Seng is the home of such operations, with large Government-Linked Companies (GLCs) like Singtel located here. The hardware behind connectivity can also be found in Tai Seng, with companies like Allied Telesys, which deals in high-tech chips and routers.
- Design and Fashion
Furniture giant Da Vinci has its operations in Tai Seng, where it houses its imports of high-end European and American furniture. Also in Tai Seng is the popular shoe brand Charles & Keith, which has outlets all over the island. Luxasia, the Asian division of conglomerate Lux, is also in Tai Seng, providing products like cosmetics, body care and fragrances.

Japanese MNC Siix is located here and specializes in business organization in the electronics sector. Siix does Research & Development (R&D) in the field of electronics manufacturing and design, helping manufacturers market their products in the best possible way. Another R&D-type firm located here is Singapore Technologies, another GLC, a global defence and engineering group with branches all over the world. This groups deals with advanced scientific and technological innovations, such as quantum mechanics and nanotechnology.
