Sungei Tengah houses one of the six agro technology parks (the others are located at Murai, Loyang, Mandai, Nee Soon and Lim Chu Kang) in Singapore . This explains the existence of more than 30 horticulture, agriculture and aquaculture farms here.

Farms

• Floriculture
  Orchids are symbolic to Singapore and it is only natural that Singapore is a major exporter of orchids. Our orchids are of exquisite quality, and for this, we should perhaps thank the orchid farms at Sungei Tengah. There are at least three (perhaps more!) orchid nurseries at Sungei Tengah alone (i.e. Blue Mountain Orchid Garden, Toh Orchids and It Meng Orchid Nursery), several flower nurseries (i.e. Chengtai Nursery, Hill View Nursery etc) and few landscaping companies ( Nature Landscape, Pioneer Landscape, Prince's Landscape & Construction etc).
• Aquaculture
  Amongst other things, Singapore is also known as the 'Ornamental Fish Capital of the World' and 'One-Stop Shop' for global ornamental fish businesses. Thanks to the ornamental fish farms here, fish-lovers are presented with more choices for their aquarium displays. But more importantly, some of the fish farms here are contributors to the foodfish industry. They produce seawater and freshwater foodfish species like groupers, seabass, snappers, crustaceans, tilapia, catfishes etc.
• Poultry farming
  Seng Choon Farm, located at Sungei Tengah, is Singapore 's first high-technology layer farm of its kind and a major producer of fresh eggs.
