About
In 1920s, Taman Jurong was infested with crocodiles, but has since grown from a small fishing village to a busy industrial and residential town. The roads at Taman Jurong used to bear names like Taman Jurong 1, Taman Jurong 2 etc, but were renamed in 1980. Most of the streets now bear English, Chinese and Malay names like Corporation Drive, Yung Ho Road, Yuan Ching Road, Yung Sheng Road, Jalan Ahmad Ibrahim etc.

Residential
Taman Jurong, located in Jurong West, is one of Singapore 's oldest residential areas. From a fishing village, it has morphed into a residential town with high-rise public housing and condominiums.

  • Taman Jurong Market and Food Centre
    Taman Jurong Market & Food Centre underwent a $14m renovation in 2005. This 5-storey building boasts a market on the first level, a food court on the second and third levels, and a carpark on the fifth and sixth levels.

    This shopping centre is organized into 4 sections i.e. Flower Zone, Heartland Zone, Sun Zone and Sanctuary Zone, and houses shopping, food, beauty and entertainment oulets.
