[M152]Make Your Own Body Scrub
by Jane L. Church, Jan
Most people who put together their own body scrub concoctions have realized that not only do they enjoy making them, but they can also earn a tidy profit on the side marketing their bath and body creations.

It is quite easy to learn the procedure of making your own exfoliating body scrub with a few easy to get hold of ingredients and you can do this from the comfort of your own home.

Body scrubs stimulate your skin and take away any dead cells. Your skin will radiate and the overall effect will be a glow which is both healthy and appealing. Of course, the ingredients you use will give different outcomes and while some people may go for the polishing effect of olive and date seed powders, others prefer the conditioning and moisturising qualities of essential oils.

Here is a basic salt scrub recipe for you to have a go making at home.

Exfoliating Sea Salt Scrub

The ingredients you should use are as follows:

* lb of sea salt (use fine to medium grain for the best results)

* 1oz sunflower oil

* 3oz jojoba oil

* 2 ounces unscented liquid soap base

* 1/4 tspn peppermint essential oil

* 1/4 teaspoon of blood orange essential oil

* 2 tspns dried raspberry seeds

Mix all of the above in a bowl and then place in a suitable container.

Any of the listed essential oils can be replaced with other oils such as sandalwood, lavender, jasmine and grapefruit. By consulting guides such as "The Handcrafter's Companion", you'll find lots of other useful information. For example, by using different seeds you can change the exfoliating effect.

You can make a wide variety of scrubs just by switching the ingredients around. It may take you a bit to find the recipe that works best for you but you will have fun trying each one out as you pamper you and your friends' skin.
