[I17]I Dont Know What To Do
by Julian Adams, Jul
When shopping for children's furniture, you are definitely going to be faced with a lot of options. Kids beds in particular give parents a lot of headaches, because it seems that the bed that your child picks out and the bed that will last the longest and be the most practical for them are usually two different beds. In fact, there are really a lot of different types of kids beds out ther, and each of them has some disadvantages and advantages to purchasing them.

The first type of kids beds are the novelty beds. These are beds that are going to look cute or give your child a themed bedroom. For example, you are going to be able to find beds that look like race cars, a princess's castle and even beds with your child's favorite cartoon or movie characters on them. These beds are really cute, but you are going to find that your child grows out of them pretty quickly and by the time they are teenagers, they will feel kind of silly sleeping in them.

Another type of bed that is becoming more and more popular is miniature adult's furniture. You are going to get classic bedroom furniture that could be identical to your bedroom furniture, but in kids beds sizes. This is really going to be a great option if you don't want to spend the money to change beds from when they are a child to when the become teenagers. A child is going to feel comfortable sleeping in this type of bed when they are a teenager and in college, so they won't feel silly for coming home and sleeping in a race car.

If you are short on space, you might want to consider getting bunk beds. Bunk beds are a really good option for children who are sharing rooms or for children who like to have their friends stay the night. They are a comfortable way to put two beds in one room and still have a lot of room to play. Bunk beds are often thought to be dangerous, but if they are properly assembled, properly maintained and if your children are careful getting into and out of them, they aren't going to be a problem at all.

Whatever bed option you chose, you are going to want to make sure to allow your child to help pick out the mattress. They should definitely choose something that they feel comfortable sleeping on, and not a mattress that you think they should feel comfortable on. Having a good mattress can help to improve their school work, improve their moods, and get them up on the right side of the bed.

There are so many different types of kids beds out there, and a lot of parents are concerned on whether or not they should give into what their kids want or they should make the decision themselves. Kids beds can really be a big investment of money, and a child's bed is going to stay with them for a long time, so make sure the decision is practical.
