One of the top 500 closely watched sites by Alexa, Squido founded by Speaker and Author Seth Godin is a network of user generated pages which they call lenses.

Lenses contain your ideas, expertise, views and recommendations on just about any topic.

Generating Traffic using Squidoo.

You will need to take the following steps:

Create your Squidoo Account. Build your lense. Create a link to your site.

Go here to signup for your squidoo account http://www.squidoo.com then choose the signup link at the top.

Squidoo is a very modular system you can add all sorts of modules to your lense. As defined earlier your lense is simply your page on squidoo. Some of the basic modules that are available are Amazon, Del.icio.us bookmarks, Ebay, Flickr Photos, Google Blog Search, Guest Book, Link List, Orbitz! , RSS : Add your own feed, Text/Write Module, Text List, You Tube Videos

There are other categories which contain additional modules. Plexo, New!, Money and Search A-Z

Squidoo is very different from other sites as you will get to share in the money made from adsense or any of the modules you setup on your lense. You can give your share to charity, split it and give a portion to charity and a portion to youself, or keep it all for yourself.

I read that if you contribute to charity your rankings will be better but I haven't tested that. I'm not really using the site to make money anyway so I just contribute to charity. I'm using it to drive traffic so we won't talk any more about making money on Squidoo.

To get the link back to your site you can use the write module or include it in your introduction. You might think about using a free report to draw them to click.

When your all done your lense will look similar to the one I setup. While you're taking a look why not rank my squidoo page. You do this by clicking on the stars that say your rank. 5 stars is the best. You will want more traffic and using the ranking will get your page ranked higher and your listing shown more.

To raise your ranking you can join Squidoo groups and send people to visit your site and rank it.

With a Alexa Ranking of 487 having a page on squidoo will most certainly get listed in the search engines.
