Toowoomba's famous Carnival of Flowers is the ultimate celebration of gardens, flowers, good, wine, quality entertainment and arts. Since it's inception, it has evolved with the times. For instance, the worst drought since 1911 in Toowoomba brought new inventiveness. Art installations were created to beautify garden beds which have been left fallow, due to the lack of water.
The drought this year has been particularly challenging, as the sparse rain combined with water restrictions and cool temperatures meant that nurturing competition gardens took on another level of difficulty.
