While a child may come stumping on the ground, demanding a grand birthday party, an adult will quietly wish for somebody to remember it. Organize parties not only for a kid; but for the adults as well. Take the help of spreadsheets if you find arranging parties a big headache. Make a list of the probable guests as well as an inventory of all the things that you need to get from the birthday party supplies. Leave some space against each item for the date of completion or by which each should be ordered or bought and for the cost involved in each case.
For a birthday party you will need a lot of birthday party supplies. First and foremost comes the cake. Next come the birthday party candles. You will also need other supplies such as decorations, balloons, streamers, confetti, paper hats, whistles, party ware in solid colors or themed party ware, drinks – both soft and hard – depending on the age of the birthday person, other snack or a dinner.
However, decide on the theme first. Then start ordering by the list. The theme should also depend on the age of the person whose birthday you are going to celebrate. For the younger children the theme can range from their favorite cartoon characters, animals in the zoo, farm animals etc. It is wiser to leave the theme on the birthday child if he is older and have decisive view. Make it clear though that the theme cannot be changed once the birthday party supplies have been ordered.
For older people too you can choose a theme based on their hobby. Mexican parties are all the rage now, and you can choose this as the theme or any other. Westerns or a romantic theme might suit some older people. If it is their fiftieth birthday, then have a golden theme and so on. Your imagination is the limit to the themes you can have for a birthday party.
Once you have ordered the cake in the theme of the party, go ahead and order the candles. These too come molded in various shapes to suit almost any theme you can think of. Match the decorations, confetti, party hats, and napkins in the theme of the party.
Next is the turn for invitation cards and thank you notes. Have them printed with the theme symbols. This will give the guests some idea of what to expect. They can, not only come dressed accordingly, but can also base the birthday gift on the theme.
If you start your planning well ahead you will have time to order supplies via the Net. Not only is the choice much greater than what you will find in a local shop, but it is cheaper as well. You, however, have to allow for enough time for shipping the products to your home.
It will be better, if you get help for the D-day. Decorate the venue with their help and make all other necessary arrangements. For instance, if you are having sit-in dinners, it will be better if you can position the place cards by the afternoon to avoid mix up. You will also need some one to pick up the cake. Do that at the last moment if you have no place to store it properly.
Dress up, relax, ands remember to wear a big smile as you greet your guests at the doorstep. Your party is bound to be a success.
If your guests include too many kids, you would do well to keep a first aid box handy. Also, enlist a couple of adult guests to help you run the show. It will be easier to tackle all the squabbles that are bound to take place. Arrange to entertain the kids. Either a cartoon show on the party theme or a magic show will fit the bill very well.
The idea to hosting a good birthday party is to plan well in advance. Using a spreadsheet helps you keep track of everything easily. Just try it once and you will be hooked to it for life. Once you have the planning in place execute your plan by placing your orders now. The rest is easy. All you have to do is relax and be a gracious hostess or host.
