Spread Betting: Why Bet?
by Adam Swave, Ada
Some say our economic state worldwide can almost be compared to the Great Depression back in the old days. But for some, specifically private investors around the world think not. You may think they had gone mad placing enormous bets on prices on indices, foreign exchange rates and gold bullions but on the other hand, these investors are earning huge chunks of money out of a falling shares and stocks or commodity prices. This factor of financial spread betting is very important to understand. The collapse or growth of our financial market allows these investors to make predictions favorable to them.

Financial spread betting is considered as a short term trading and differs greatly with that of the conventional investments. With the plunge of most of the stocks today, conventional investors are getting more and more despondent. Some of them had no options but to liquidate most of their stocks and holdings, leaving them with little or no profit at all. It is the contrary however, for most spread betters. They use the decline of a currency or a stock market to determine the bet they will put their money on. The beauty of it is that they do the same thing whenever the price of the stocks or the commodity hikes up. You could say that it is a win-win situation for these investors.

There are numerous other advantages you could take pleasure in spread betting besides the money or the profits you can gain. Unlike other investments and financial instruments in the stock market, spread betting is very easy to understand. The manner in which a bet can be won is less complex just as long as you do enough research. In addition, there is a variety of markets you could bet on. You can bet on a US index, Austrian index or how many times the president would mention the phrase ?world peace? on his speech.

For big investors, having tax free prize money is definitely a plus because they do not have to look for ways to increase their profits. Since spread betting is an agreement between a better and the client, it is exempted from stamp duty.

However advantageous it may be for these investors, they also carry great risks whenever their bets are placed. The higher amount of bet on the table is, the higher the revenue they could get and the loss their risking may also be limitless. To minimize the risk of losing unlimited amount of money, investors become experts on the chosen commodity or rates they will put bets on and use a stop-loss especially if the bet involves a lot of money. It is vital not to get too attached if losses are great and to use it as a tool to improve on making the next bet.

More and more people every day is becoming inclined to spread betting and today, the population of spread betters in the world has gone over 400,000. After careful research, practice and strategies, consider the odds, ?why not bet??
