I have been promoting affiliate products for a number of years now. I never made a profit from it though until I learned to chose the right products. There was a hundred factors that I did not take in to consideration but the main problem I had was promoting whatever I thought was hot and whatever promised a good commission. Lets just say I learned things the hard way.

If you are an aspiring new affiliate marketer - hoping to make some big bucks on the internet - your first step should be finding a good and reliable affiliate marketing product or program. To keep this short, I will say there are many methods you can use to find out whether the program is suitable for you or not and whether the tools and resources the program provides you with, will help you towards achieving your internet affiliate marketing success.

Therefore, jumping into a program, you should first do a thorough research on it. As in, do they provide fast and reliable support for when you need it. Is the product or service they deliver really worth the price they are asking for it? How much commission are you getting? What is the average conversion rate?

Also, ask yourself: do you know the product well enough to promote it effectively? Do you feel well enough about it to sell it to other people? The best way to get to know a product or service better, is to read up on it, or better yet, to actually purchase it. You are in this business for the long haul and you must be able to provide first hand information about whatever it is you're promoting.

Another way to find out is to read up on other affiliates who are promoting the same program, to see if there are successful affiliate marketers who have actually made decent amount of money using and promoting it. This should not be too hard as I'm certain that there are many other affiliates who have tried the program out before. Once you find someone who has had success promoting the product, service or program, try to obtain as much information from them as possible.

Find out what worked for them and what did not work. Find out if they actually got paid or if they recommend that you promote it.

Affiliate Marketing is rewarding and with proper research, it can amount to a nice monthly income.
