all i ask for 4x's   all i ask for is a state of mind where i can keep myself in line   with all the changes and all that stays the same   i think i'll leave the past behind      all i ask for 2x's   and all the things are different in my life   the words you say, i hear them on the side   wishes left unanswered   no songs to gravitate   the feeling will not survive   the feelings can not survive   with all the changes in my life   the feelings have survived   and i just wonder why      all i ask for 4x's   and now i see no reason to pretend   and i wont tell you that your not my only friend but,   say a thousand things to try to change your mind   but i cannot trust you this time   no i cannot trust you this time   with all the changes in my life   you should have never never never trust in you      now inside you there's someone to depend on   yes its true, your still my only friend but,   light a candle, it slowly flickers out    as the memory fades away 3x's   someday      all i ask for 4x's   someday   all i ask for 4x's
