Hey buddy, that sounds good to me   Hey buddy, that sounds good to me   On this day the sun won't shine and the moon won't rise   Hey buddy, that sounds good   Read it in the newspaper   Saw it on the tube   You sent a message that the time for me is through   A man came from above   Said have you had enough   I said open up those gates for me   Hey buddy I'll walk those stairs with you   That sounds pretty good, that sounds damn good   At my final waking moment you better believe it   I'll sing along   I'll sing along   Hey where you go I'll follow   Read it in the newspaper   Saw it on the tube   You sent a message that the time for me is through   I saw my father die   He laughed and waved goodbye   He said open up   Open up   Open up those gates for me
