Promise; something to be expected  Written on the inside of me  I am waiting today    Like a song so familiar  Like a fire at its embers  I am burning today    Chorus:  Mercy day; just a drop in the ocean  A never-ending emotion  I am ready today    A secret that was told to me wordless  That i cling to with everything  I am clinging today    Like an old washed-out picture  Like a story remembered  I can see it today    Chorus:  Mercy day; just a drop in the ocean  A never-ending emotion  I am ready today  Mercy day; the breaking out of the morning  The quenching of every longing  I am ready today    Bridge:  Every start is completed  Every half is made whole  Everything is done    Like an old washed-out picture  Like a story remembered  I can see it today  I can see it now, see it now    Chorus    Mercy day
