Great minds will be misunderstood.   They’d fit in if only they could.   Frowning at the world and you know.   Naïve people, you know where to go      Everywhere you look, everywhere you stare.   A different kind of person than you can bear.   Trapped inside your world of wrong and right.   Fitting into every stereotype      When people are afraid to try something new.   Some may not want to see another view.   Until the blinders fade, stagnation occurs.   Beyond the tunnel vision reality blurs      Go look in the mirror and maybe you’ll see.   Despite all the differences you’re a lot like me.   Although we may not always see eye to eye.   Maybe just once you ought to give it a try      New ideas are often ridiculed.   But how do we progress if we follow all the rules.   Many great artists are ahead of their time.   And societies values will stop on a dime      Great minds will be misunderstood.   They’d fit in if only they could
