When I act according to the values I hold dear in my everyday life, it brings a sense of congruency and harmony within, which shows up in all those around me as I strive to create my dream. There are times, however, when I find that agreement with those who I live with eludes me, that harmony is distant, and conformity with those same values seems unreachable. It is at this time of "enlightenment" masked by frustration or impatience when I start to see that the corresponding lessons I am learning are many....
The following are The Top Ten Lessons from my greatest teachers. My husband and my son have been instrumental in allowing a deeper understanding of life's mysteries, of my limitations and strengths and in turn, of their beautiful worthiness.
Those is our lives are mirrors of the best in us and the humanness in us, and reveal the gap between what we truly want and how close we are to manifesting that reality. Sometimes that gap is gaping and sometimes it is just a small easily sealed crack. There is no gap too wide to close, I have found.
Everything in this process begins and ends with gratitude. There are times when I sit rather than stand up for myself and the values that are not shared by those I live with. Even in these experiences, I am grateful that I am more aware of how the person I have become can show up all the time.
Here are the Top Ten Lessons:
1. Always keep a tissue handy for times when love runs over into tears. They could be tears of despair, to tears of anger, to tears of frustration, then to tears of appreciation, tears of hope, to tears of Joy.
2. Allow one sentence to finish before beginning another. Communication is just the tip of the iceberg. Know what you are feeling as you say your words. Breathe feeling into your words and slow down.
3. Listening to the complete thought of another is true love. To listen soul to soul is an art, especially with those you know well. Sometimes I assumed I knew the next thought, projected the word to come, when just listening with the heart is all that is needed.
4. Even when you know the answer, try chewing on and allowing the question to carefully sink in before replying. Jumping the gun always has irreversible results that can quickly exaggerate into a volatile scene.
5. Always know that an argument about the answer can lead to a closer connection to your Source of wisdom. Become the Observer whenever an argument occurs. I often ask the question "Is it better to be Loved or to be Right?"
6. Take care with your words and allow them to be laced with your true voice. Authenticity can be clear in whatever you say. Take a deep breath before speaking, know that you are loved, and speak that love.
7. Enjoy your preferences while accepting those of others, even when inconvenient. Whenever I become uncomfortable, I often say to myself, 'this too shall pass.' I also allow the contrast of that experience to give me clarity about what I do want, so I can clearly ask for a different experience to show up next time.
8. Mind your own vibration. Allow another to find their own way out of negative vibration - don't join them in it.
9. Feel your way to Health, Harmony and Hope. The 3 H's will certainly move towards you as you allow them in.
10. See another as they truly are in your desires. See another in the picture you most want for them. Allow them to become!
For many years there has been a huge demand for extra space around the home and workplace, so garden sheds, outbuildings, and garages have been used to fulfil this need. Granny Flat ? Poor old granny has, in times past been subjected to life in a sectional building. Albeit most sons & daughters will completely board & insulate the building. How this would stand up to building regulations and planning permissions I wouldn't like to think, but I'm sure it must be illegal!
Good Old Fashioned Car Garage ? Only 1 in 5 garages supplied are ever intended to house the family run about. Of that, nearly half succumb to so much junk and clutter within the first two years that the car ends up out on the driveway forever.
Beauty Therapists? Salon ? Many people start home based businesses today, because renting premises can be so costly. A recent installation with full planning approval was the shell of what was to become a successful home beauty business for a young lady with plenty of drive and ambition.
Dog Grooming Parlour ? This was the expansion of an already successful small business that required larger premises. Luckily no dogs were on site that day as one of the garage fitting team was allergic to poodles!
Chapel Of Rest ? This building was <---****HYPERLINK****--->"http://www.nucrete.co.uk/Attached-Garages.htm" style="color: blue; text-decoration: underline; text-underline: single"> attached to the wall of the existing funeral parlour. This way an access door from the original building gained entry to the chapel. The building was boarded & insulated. Sends shivers up your spine!
Aircraft Hanger ? A young man with a mission to build a light aircraft and store it when not in use chose a <---****HYPERLINK****--->"http://www.nucrete.co.uk/Double-Garages.htm" style="color: blue; text-decoration: underline; text-underline: single"> double garage for his project. Luckily the wings were removable so he didn't need to have the building wide enough to house a 747!
Fire-Station Storeroom ? This was used mainly for Cadets to house their equipment. The building being manufactured predominantly from concrete means they shouldn't worry too much about it catching fire!
General Junk Room ? THE No1 indispensable use of any sectional building. But remember, the bigger the building you have, the more junk you will hoard!
Railway Station! ? One of our favourites. An enthusiast with ?ride-on? model engines wanted to build a structure that he could then modify to ride his engines into and use as a work shed, whilst using the front as a station and platform. Yes, the garage fitting team did have a ride when they had finished!
