I used to have to wait an hour to download a simple DOS gave that was only 2 Megs because of how slow modems were. Now I can probably download about 1 gig in an hour if I have a real quick broadband internet connection.
With the first computer that I had had a 40 Meg hard drive and I thought that I would never be able to use up that much space. Now, I have 2 hard drives one 100 Gig and the other 60 gigs and I constantly have to delete things that I no longer need because otherwise I will need to get a larger drive.
Technology is changing so fast these days. It used to be that maybe a new computer would come onto the market every year. Now I see new ones almost everyday. When I had a 486 DX66 I had 16 Megs of RAM which I thought was screaming fast. On my latest system I have just under 4 Gigs of RAM and think I may need to try upgrading to 8 gigs real soon. Maybe one of these days the US Space Shuttle will work based on a pentium instead of the snail slow system they currently use. Most of their problems are because of the old technology they use every day.
