Having recently been told that powdered dishwasher soap is a better option thanliquid products, Ms Carlson states she has come up with a solution to theproblem of storage.

"I washed out an empty, plastic half-gallon milk jug and allowed it to drythoroughly. Then I poured the dry detergent from its cardboard box through afunnel into the jug," she states.

This means that not only does this make powder easier to pour, but by keepingthe lid the soap can also be kept dry - reducing lumps and clogging.

For those who use powdered detergent in their washing machines, the tip couldbe equally useful.
