Makeup For Sensitive Skin
Samantha Steiner
These new products, called liquid mineral makeup products, are formulated using all-natural ingredients, such as pure ground minerals and botanical ingredients, as well as a touch of natural oils such as olive or shea. Ground minerals are an excellent choice for cosmetics, since they are non-allergenic, PH neutral, and non-reactive.
Liquid mineral makeup is formulated for the mainstream market, but is a boon for people with sensitive skin, because not only do the products not contain any kind of irritating or allergy-causing materials, but they are also highly concentrated. That means that they can be applied very lightly, lessening the chance of a reaction. As an added bonus, the light application of mineral makeup feels feather-light and silky-smooth - almost like not wearing makeup at all!
Our simple mineral makeup tips will help you apply liquid mineral makeup. To begin, properly clean your face with a non-comedogenic cleanser. Then put on a little mineral foundation for sensitive skin -- you don't need much! Allow your foundation several minutes to dry properly before taking the next step, as too much moisture near the skin can be irritating.
Once the foundation has completely dried, you can apply blush, eye shadow and the other makeup products that are part of your daily regimen. Make sure, though, to allow some additional drying time, especially if you are applying multiple coats. You should also try to apply as little of the products as possible to ensure the best results.
Since liquid mineral makeup will last all day, there is no need to add extra irritation-causing applications. However, for a few people with extremely sensitive skin, it might make sense to remove the makeup at midday to clean your face and use a moisturizer, followed by a light re-application. In either case, at the end of your day, do make sure to carefully remove your makeup using a cold cream formulated for sensitive skin.
