Unless you're on a course or classes are pre-paid don't leave a dance class without paying the teacher. Without these fundamentals, you may never truly grasp what makes up a proper dance. If you are looking for a historical lesson, dig into Wild Style (1983) or The Freshest Kids (2002); essential films for any "Hip Hop enthusiasts," they do a good job of taking you to the source and breaking everything down to the core fundamentals.

In a club you're likely to see people just dancing their own way and some people naturally dance a bit better than others. For some reason, people in the United States LOVE to dance. What's more, Lee demonstrates the social misconceptions and family background struggles that b-boys have to endure in their pursuits.

It's heartening to watch this film and see b-boys all over the world endure a weeklong Battle Of The Year camp to compete for the title of the planets best b-boy. A certain dance style is becoming more and more popular in the UK. In fact looking at the term more closely, 'street dance' is more an umbrella term encompassing all these dance styles and many more. If you know anyone in a dance crew it's also worth asking where they practise as it may an underground place that a lot of people go to.

There are lots of these underground dance studios that specialise in hip hop or locking and popping. A lot of the time these underground places will be cheaper than the mainstream studios and you can get into some good dance classes for a lot cheaper. It can also include acrobatics when danced in dance troupes and can fuse with other styles which are very different such as contemporary too. For example some people would also put dance styles such as the breakin' and the crip walk under the category whilst others would not. As techniques became more and more refined, its influence on other areas of dance increased.
