He cites one food myth that he's identified: the "doctrine of nought" -- the idea that if too much of something is bad for you, then eliminating it entirely must be good for you. He says studies show we get more nutritional value from foods we enjoy.

This brings up a good point. Can you ever have too much of a bad thing? Yes! Munching an entire pizza on a diet is having too much of a bad thing. Like Glassner says, eliminate it! When it comes to food and obesity, proportion is key, but elimination is best.
