Learning Foreign Language Online
Julie Landry
The third most spoken language in America is Italian, due to a great influx of Italian immigrants following World War II. The Italian language is considered one of the oldest, most romantic languages in the world, and today, more than 60 million people around the world speak the language of ancient Rome and direct descendant of Latin. Though comprised of many different dialects, the language was standardized for the most part in 1860, when Italy became unified as a Kingdom. The Italian language is really related to the culture. Italian families have been in America a long time but their knowledge of language and culture is diminishing.
The Italian language is one of ancient and historic roots. Today, it is the official language of several nations, including Italy, Slovenia, and Vatican City. The Italian language is only part of Italy's culture. Vacation opportunities and cultural activities abound in this fabulous country. The Italian language is perfect for poetry and politics. Culturally speaking, Italians much prefer keen observation to voluntary self disclosure.
The Italian language is an Indo-European language, belonging to the Latin, or Romance group of languages. It is derived from Latin, a dead language which originated in Latium (Lazio in modern Italian), the region around Rome and from where the word Latin derives. It is directly derived from Latin, from which other languages such as French and Spanish are derived. It is actually spoken by about 60 million people in Italy and Southern Switzerland, and by the little Italian community around the world (Argentina and the US being the largest). The Italian language is generally easy, although - at times - it is difficult to understand the ramblings of a native speaker in his thick Italian!
The Italian language is just one of the many international languages that need to be learned with dedication and pure interest. The Italian language is Neolatin, so it is known to be antiquated and inefficient. It is fairly easy to understand and learn since some words can be recognized easily the moment they are mentioned. Some Italian words are now even used by millions of people across the globe.
The Italian language is best adapted to operatic performance as well, due to the predominance of vowels. Many of the most famous early operatic performers were Italian-born and trained. So not only will learning Italian help you in a business setting, it will allow you to fully appreciate and experience some of the most amazing opera performances ever created.
