Website Designing is the designing or the planning of a Website, or a Web Page, or a Web Application. The term 'website designing' is used normally to describe the graphic side of the website design, in which the designer uses images to create a user-friendly or interactive web page. The general idea of designing a website is that the user must find it easy to employ for his purposes; it would be an excellent plan to consider the ultimate user throughout the designing and planning processes of the website. Usability must never be a mere after thought: testing a website after it has been completed, and then making attempts to fix it is not a good idea at all; it would be much better to consider the user friendliness and adaptability of the website when it is being designed. The advantages of inculcating usability into the website design are innumerable: there would be a better end user satisfaction, an increased end user productivity, as well as reduced long-term development costs, and reduced training and support costs.
Who else but a professional website designer would be able to handle the design in an efficient and user-friendly manner?
A professional website designer would be able to, in short, create a professional website for the business owner, so that his products could be showcased for the entire world. He would possess artistic skills, and a broad knowledge of the latest media technologies. He would be knowledgeable about programming languages, and of legitimate search engine optimisation too, and the business owner would naturally derive the benefit of such expertise. Whether it is a website design, or an e-letter, or a site upgrade, or mere maintenance, or a need to include graphic elements, or Flash animation, the professional would be able to handle it all, in a capable and efficient manner, because he would have the expertise and the training to create a high-quality website design.
When the business owner engages a professional designer, he has taken the first step towards establishing and maintaining a professional Internet presence, worldwide. Consider, for example, a business owner running a small business selling a product, perhaps clothes. If he were located in a busy area in the heart of a city, his sales would be higher than if his store were in a remote locale. He would probably place advertisements in the local newspapers, advertising his products, and he would hold discount sales and other campaigns to sell more of his products, and he would be able to achieve moderate sales figures. On the other hand, if he were to promote his business online, and sell online, then his sales figures would skyrocket. Since the innate purpose of any business owner is to achieve the maximum sales possible, this would be a veritable boon for him.
This is where a professional website designer comes in: an effective designer would be able to place the business owner's products on the World Wide Web, and get him purchase orders from any nook and cranny of the world, and the business owner would be able to sell his products online, twenty-four hours a day, and seven days a week. The website would serve as a representative, who would answer clients' questions, and offer customer service when the business is closed at night. Sales would go on uninterrupted, and if the website were user friendly, it would be of even greater advantage for the business owner. A website is a very powerful and effective advertising and marketing tool, and a well designed website would help to promote and expand the business into many other areas of the country, and to the entire world, by creating an overwhelming and powerful online presence for the business owner.
These are a few of the services that a good professional website designer would offer to the business owner who wished to go global with his products or services:
E-Commerce Solutions: The designer could provide a state of the art shopping cart, as a part of an e-commerce solution, which the business owner could use to sell his products online.
Search Engine Optimization: This is a very important service that a professional website designer could provide, and it means that he would get the owner better rankings, and increase traffic to the web page.
E-Mail Campaign: A professional could offer to aggressively drive traffic to the website, with a direct e-mail campaign, which is one of the more cost effective web tools available today.
Graphic designing, animation: These are the tools of the trade that a professional website designer could use, to make the web page interesting and user friendly.
Professional Copywriting: Another useful and often crucial service for the business owner, this would be effective in getting across the business owner's message clearly and plainly.
A good website would have all these elements, and when it is a professional website design, then the business owner could be reasonably sure of achieving more sales than he figured he would.
